3D printing is useful in foundries. It can be used for prototyping molds before mass production or for creating models for foundry molds. In the process of creating of a casting mold, it is necessary to use a physical model, which is surrounded by the molding substance and only on this basis the mold for the final casting is created. Until now, conventional mold preparation methods were time-consuming, expensive and not entirely precise. An additional aspect is tavailability of specialists who can perform the molds sufficiently well. 3D printing allows you to reduce costs and shorten the process of preparing the casting mold by skipping CNC machining, and at the same time delivers very high precision, eliminating any imperfections that could appear on the mold when using traditional methods.
